AtomExpo Belarus 2009, international exhibition and conference, was held in the National Exhibition Centre of Minsk on March 10-13.

The main goal of AtomExpo Belarus 2009 was to present up-to-date technologies of project development, construction and safety of the nuclear power plant, to attract investors to finance the construction of the nuclear power plant. Another objective of the forum was to promote positive public opinion about construction of the nuclear power plant in Belarus, atomic scientific research and to advance personnel training.

The exhibition featured technologies and equipment for the nuclear power plant construction, modern nuclear and radioactive safety systems and technologies for processing and storage of radioactive waste, transportation of radioactive materials.

The conference focused on nuclear personnel training, environmental protection, and strategic state nuclear policy and energy security of the country.

The expo gathered over 60 companies from six countries, including over 30 companies of the Russian nuclear industry. Among the participants are China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group, enterprises of the Belarusian power engineering concern Belenergo, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, BelAZ, Beltoveks company, Research and Production Corporation Radiy (Ukraine), AES Komplekt company, EnergoNefteKhim, Atomtech and others.

The conference was organised by the Belarusian Ministries of Energy, Education, Information, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Architecture and Construction, the National Academy of Sciences, nuclear energy department of the Energy Ministry, International Sakharov Environmental University, Belarusian National Technical University, and Russia’s Atomexpo (official exhibition operator of Rosatom, State Nuclear Power Corporation) and Russian nuclear enterprises.
